Hailing from the Isola dei Nuraghi in Sardinia, the 2012 vintage blends Carignano with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Eighteen months of ageing in French oak barriques yields a profile of dark berries, liquorice, and Mediterranean herbs. Firm tannins and a long, savoury finish reflect the island’s volcanic soils. Serve at room temperature with roasted meats or mature cheeses.
